The Issues:
Proposition 1 - C-Tran Tax Increase
I am very concerned about the lack public involvement and transparency by the incumbent regarding her representation to the C-Tran Board. It seems to me, her values do not match those of the citizens in Camas. C-Tran has over $35 million in cash reserves, and $115M in assets over their liabilities. yet my opponent vote, "Yes," to seek a tax increase with Proposition 1, which I am against. It's time for all government agencies to set priorities and live within their means, particularly in these difficult economic times.

Bring More Family Wage Jobs to Camas
As a business executive with over 35 years of world wide experience, I understand what it takes to create an environment for business to flourish in Camas. I will lead the charge to simplify the current permit processes , making it easier for small business employers set up shop, hire new employees and participate in a real economic recovery. More good jobs will improve our quality of life in Camas and provide future, sustainable employment opportunities for our children.
Make Public Safety A Top Priority
I will continue to preserve responsible funding of our police and fire departments to keep Camas a great and safe place to live.
Preserve our Parks and Open Spaces
I love the quality of life we all share in Camas. I will work tirelessly to protect our parks, trails and open spaces. By preserving our quality of life, we will attract more businesses to locate here.
Revitalize Downtown Camas
The City needs to do more to encourage small businesses to return to downtown Camas. I was disappointed to see Camas reduce all funding for the Downtown Vision Coalition and its counterparts. I will scour the budget to find government efficiencies so that the City can go back to funding the little things like hanging flower baskets in downtown, which add to the charm of our downtown area. Let's make downtown the "Go to" destination for business and shoppers again!
